Misc. Updates Again

その目誰の目?

So I got a twitter. I figured it’d be a good place to dump extra cellphone load, so yeah rofl

I’ve also been playing Chaos;Head by using the translation found on the Project MOOGY Wiki (aka TLWiki).
It’s funny how I got interested in playing this game, actually. Initially, I’d only cared about its opening song – Find the blue, by Itou Kanako (one whose songs are pretty much hit-or-miss for me). Eventually, my inner curiosity got me and I was soon grabbing a copy of the soundtrack and the CGs. After that, I got a copy of the game itself, just for kicks. I was just idling in #ndt (at irc.ppirc.net) and then LoSs, who happened to be there, said “その目誰の目?” and mentioned having to translate complex quantum physics terms (eg: the Dirac sea) and I, putting two and two together, realized that a translation was in the works. However, to find it already fully translated, with only editing, proofing, and so on, left *coughKANONcough*, was quite surprising.
So far, it’s actually managed to get me pretty jarred whenever I play it (late at night ’til the early mornings). I’d prefer not to spoil anything, so I won’t go any further. However, I would like to say this one thing – Takumi, as a protagonist – is a wuss, a loser, a pussy, an otaku, and an antisocial jerk, even to his acquaintances and family – the quintessential “scum of society.” Seriously. On the other hand, LoSs from #ensue (at irc.rizon.net) said that he was a GAR badass, so I’ll take his word for it.

Recently, I’ve also taken a fascination with writing instruments. Just yesterday, I bought myself 3 Uni Pin fine line pens, at 0.2, 0.3, and 0.5 mm thicknesses, a Zebra F-301 Compact (for the notebook), and a converter and ink for my old Parker Jotter. I also happened to come across my aunt Verna’s, god bless her soul, old Parker 45 (this was one of those manufactured in the 60’s, mind you), complete with the ink sac, so I gave it a thorough rinse, body, nib, and all, and it was good to go.
Writing with fountain pens initially put me off because of the thick lines and the delicacy with which one has to hold it with (in other words, I was used to writing with ballpoint) but for some reason, it just clicks now. They feel fine and write a whole lot better than normal ballpoints, though rollerballs are just as good.

Oh, and by the way, I’m still translating the “system” portion of the TWilight refrAIN manual, though at this rate, it’s really more of reading comprehension than it is vocabulary, given that most of the words aren’t in my own vocab and thus need to be dictionaried up (yes, I made that word up). I swear I’ll have it out by around Thursday at the latest.

TWAIN Guide Up

And hopefully, it won’t end up half-assedly done like the Recettear guide I did before.

I was bored, so I translated the thing. Many thanks to Selkirk for uploading the image, as well as translating the novel.
Oh, and one thing I’m grateful for having worked for Kawaii-Heavens as an editor is getting some good settings for saving B&W stuff in PNG.

New Figures and Some Other Stuff

I just realized that Rein’s been waiting in the shop since last month, so I went there to pick her up. figma Nanoha was just out too, so I got her as well. On the way back, I stopped by the Fully Booked in the Promenade in the hopes that they were able to get copies of ARIA or AQUA. Sadly, they did not. They did, on the other hand, have a bit of new manga, including Ani-Manga of a GITS 2 movie, its prequel, and some other things. There were also a couple of Hana Kimi artbooks, two different FMA artbooks, and even an Eva one. Unfortunately, the latter one was out of my budget. I also spotted a pair of Shana light novels – I figured I might as well, so I got the first and reserved the other.

Ever17

I played this back then around 2-3 years ago. I quit soon after because of various reasons.

I began playing this Monday because I felt like it.

Despite the upcoming work the next day, I played through Coco’s route last night all the way ’til 4 in the morning.

It was soooooo worth it.

PS: Tsugumi is love. I will update this post sometime to explain. expound on this in subsequent, spoiler-filled posts.

no real title.

Well, seeing as now is college applications time, I’ll be mulling over how to write essays without getting to thousand-word reports of my life story, as well as getting my ass in gear and getting first honors, basically A’s for every subject for the entire schoolyear (also known as mental suicide), as well as other things I have to do, so I’ll be rather busy. And dead-tired, considering I have both refresher courses on Math and Filipino, as well as Japanese classes on Saturdays.

On the other hand, a friend gave me his Shirakawa Nanaka figure because he had to throw her out, so yay for that. Yes, I display her that way because her legs are hot The legs are very well-sculpted. Also, thanks to a signal 3 typhoon, I’ll be having no classes, so yay for that as well. I guess I have nothing to contribute anymore, so I’ll just post a bunch of random wallpapers, courtesy of moe.imouto.org.

ToyCon 2008 was…

This is sort of what I feel like, sans the bags and paper tube, and that rather than exhaustion, I feel disappointment.

a mediocre con. It was plagued with a lot of problems (like most cons here). Too crowded, not a lot of things to do if you’re not with a group of overly lively people (I was more or less alone both days), and so on. However, what I love about the cons here is that anyone can get a stall and sell whatever they want, as long as it’s related in some way. In the Philippines, because most collectors generally belong to a group that encompasses anything nerd-culture related, anime, cosplay, and everything else is included, so even if you’re just selling random anime merchandise, or stolen fansubs (shame on you), or old, second-hand stuff you wanna get rid of, then you’re allowed to.

Because I don’t care much for the con (cons themselves here suck in general), I will refrain from talking about the event itself. That and I forgot to bring a camera to take pictures so I’ll just leave that to whoever else writes about it. Or Google.

I’ll cut this off here because one of the three things I bought is rather not worksafe, so just hit the jump for the stuff.
